Miss Piggy gets fashion fix Marc Jacobs















t's a dilemma every fashionista must face - what to wear to New York Fashion Week.

Under the glare of the media and wanting to stand out from the beautiful young things on the front row even seasoned style muse Miss Piggy can struggle with choosing what show-stopping outfit to wear.

So the peachy puppet has enlisted the help of a diminutive bandy-legged sidekick. No, we don't mean fellow muppet Kermit the Frog but kilt-wearing, American designer, Marc Jacobs.

With friends such as Madonna, Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham, Mr Jacobs is no stranger to glamorous women, and he has picked out a series of couture ballgowns for the larger-than-life character.

The unlikely pair met up at the designer's Spring Street showroom in New York to discuss the important issues of excessive use of accessories, shoes and being an alpha diva.

Marc Jacobs even found time to give Miss Piggy a sneak peek at his Spring/Summer 2010 collection due to hit the runway next month.

After the rave reviews he received for last season's block colour display you'd think the designer would have little to worry about but Mr Jacobs has said how much he is dreading New York Fashion Week.

When asked if he is excited about September's catwalk show, he replied: 'No. Do I enjoy it? Enjoy is a weird word. It's work - work is more what it's about. It's not fun.'

So it seems Marc is finding fun elsewhere, by inviting fuzzy, blonde-haired puppets into his studio and looking forward to his up-coming 'marriage' to boyfriend Lorenzo Martone. Maybe Miss Piggy could be a bridesmaid...
