Hall of Fame New Era Size Caps

Taking a playful concept to the design table, Los Angeles-based hat purveyors Hall of Fame unveil their latest collection of New Era fitteds. Their “Size” lineup is pretty self-explanatory, featuring raised embroidery with the respective hat size on the front panel. Each is featured in their own two-tone color range, with sizes 7 1/4 – 7 3/4 available. All the peanut heads or big domers are unfortunately out of luck. A release is scheduled for this Saturday, August 7th.

A.P.C. - Fall/Winter 2009 Collection

Basics are dubbed so because they work on everyone and crosses all boundaries. The Fall/Winter 2009 Collection from A.P.C surprises us and makes basics a tad less boring and that much more interesting with some skilled mix and match. With simple familiar pieces such as button downs and jackets in various monotones and fundamental patterns, A.P.C created various personas for us– the school boy in sweater layered over button downs and pants; the swanky popular kid in matched orange get up of leather jacket and pants; the sleek trustfund baby in fitted dark denim paired with red shirt and black blazer. The only pieces that are not so basic are the acid washed jeans and babyblue overalls. Surprisingly, when paired with the other pieces from the collection, both items still looked practical and wearable. If you are looking for well-tailored and fitting pieces to go with the rest of your wardrobe, the A.P.C Fall/Winter 2009 Collection is a great way to go, and is now available online through A.P.C.

BAPE - Fall/Winter 2009- Manhunt Boots

Newly released from BAPE are some season appropriate suede and leather Chukkah inspired boots. The angled and boxy silhouette is paired with thick cream rubber soles. The words “Manhunt” are embossed onto the leather and suede in basic fall colorways of brown, tan and black. A small logo decorates the side heel panel of the shoes. These shoes look functional and comfortable enough to wear into the wild, but since these are “Manhunt” boots, we suppose they would be more at home for a night out in town.

Carolyn Massey Spring/Summer 2010

selectism - carolyn-massey-spring-2010-01
We’re more than a little jealous of Style Salvage, who got to rummage around Carolyn Massey’s studio last week. They got a thorough look at the SS10 collection, which has a mountaineering influence. While we loved all the pieces shown, we took a special shine to the ‘paracoat’, which we think is reminiscent of a coat that Andrew Irvine wore.
While everyone loves Scandin avian fashion, half the reason there’s so many young labels out there doing well is because stores aren’t afraid to take a risk and stock them in stores. We’re a little shocked that a collection like Massey’s is only available at ASOS and Daniel Jenkins (who does a great job in stocking labels that many stores won’t). Hopefully that’s something that’ll change in the future.
Take a gander at more pictures after the leap.
